Hello everyone,
I'd like to share with you a project I’ve been working on recently as a Tutor for Genius Academy.
The project is called “Necrosturm”, a brief created by Giulia Gentilini and Samuele Bandini, and used as an exercise for the students at the school.
My role was to support the students during the work-in-progress phase, leading up to the final review.
The brief was just too cool not to jump in and create a few pieces for my own portfolio as well!
Here’s a bit more context about the brief:
The course focuses on creating environment key art and callouts using Blender, ensuring a cohesive project with a specific setting.
Here's some information about the setting:
"This project is a creative exercise for narrative and didactic purposes. Although it draws inspiration from real historical events, it does not intend to glorify, justify, or trivialize ideologies, symbols, or actions related to the Nazi regime, nor to offend the victims of conflicts or crimes against humanity."
During WWII, a Nazi scientist created a biological agent, W-B47, intended to make an immortal army. Instead, it turned deceased victims into violent, mindless automatons, spreading an infection via bodily fluids. The contagion rapidly spread across all front lines, transforming conventional warfare into a desperate struggle for survival as fallen soldiers reanimated to continue fighting.
The Task was Task:
Create an environment, either indoor and/or outdoor, representing one of the following locations, set during World War II in the context of a zombie apocalypse caused by the W-B47 pathogen:
-Location I: Cinema/theater in a French city
-Location II: Church in a Polish city
-Location III: Trench/bunker in Normandy.
I modeled every single asset, except for
the zombies and soldiers, which I took from Mixamo and posed,
and the jeep, tank, and truck, which I took from Sketchfab.
